Sarajevo fans stated: We will not fall for treacherous provocations

After the County State Attorney's Office in Split acquitted Oliver Knezović of the murder of Sarajevo fan Vedran Puljić, the Association of FK Sarajevo fans issued a statement to the public, reports the Patria agency.

- The County State Attorney's Office in Split acquitted Oliver Knezović of the murder of Vedran Puljić and the wounding of six other FK Sarajevo fans. Today, almost eight years after the unfortunate event, it seems to us that the agony has ended. But it only seems so, the agony has just begun. If we consider that it took the incompetent judicial institutions of Croatia and BiH eight years to determine that Oliver did not kill Vedran, we wonder how many more years it will take to determine who the real killer is, and who wounded six other boys?

Will it ever be determined, or will it remain just another in a series of unexplained events in the hilly Balkans? It is simply unbelievable that no one is interested in solving the murder of a young boy and the wounding of six others. Perhaps it would be in their interest if it weren't a public secret how Vedran was killed by the police?! When has anyone in this hilly Balkans ever won a lawsuit against the state? What are the chances that in the same Balkans, in one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, fans will win a lawsuit against the police? Zero!

The farce of the whole case began the moment Oliver "escaped" from custody in Lištica. A man with a strong military background, dual citizenship, and obviously strong connections in the institutions of this and our neighboring country, after eight years, he has sweetly laughed in all our faces. He will probably even be well compensated for the time spent in custody, and whether Vedran's real killer will ever be found is a big question.

Thanks to hypocritical neighbors, domestic institutions, and all those who consciously directed the investigation in the wrong direction for eight years. Thank you all for informing us of this "wonderful" news on the eve of a match that is one of the most important for us every season.

We know you did it consciously so that we would fall for your treacherous provocations, but we will not fall for them. As long as we exist, as long as we follow Sarajevo, in the 24th minute of every match, "TRUTH FOR VEDRAN" will resound... until the truth comes to light!

We promise you all, we will fight for the truth and most importantly, we will win! All fans of Football Club Sarajevo, tomorrow it is your duty to appear at Koševo, at this moment when everyone is watching us and trying to disable us, we should stand by each other, to be stronger than ever.
