Works continue on the square in front of the 'Wings of Freedom' monument on Žuč hill

(Patria) - The Mayor of Novi Grad Municipality, Semir Efendić (SBiH), announced that works have continued on the Wings of Freedom monument in Žuč.

"Works have continued on paving the area around the monument and the construction of a ceremonial square in front of the Wings of Freedom. The Municipality of Novi Grad is implementing the project in cooperation with the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of KS," Efendić wrote.

The "Wings of Freedom" monument is a symbol of victory, defense, and remembrance of the bravest sons of our homeland. It is the largest monument in Sarajevo to date, symbolizing the courage, resistance, and heroism of the heroes who defended this city from aggression.

The grandiose monument in the form of a stylized bird is part of the Žuč Memorial Complex. The wingspan of the "Wings of Freedom" is 25 meters, and the height is 16 meters. The monument is visible from numerous locations in Sarajevo, and it can be reached from the direction of Buća Potok and Vogošća.
