Works continue on the reconstruction of the sidewalk in front of the BiH Presidency building

The Spatial Planning and Communal Affairs Service of Centar Municipality managed to obtain the necessary additional approvals for the continuation of works on the reconstruction of the sidewalk in Maršala Tita Street in front of the main, i.e., ceremonial entrance, to the building of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria agency.

Namely, since this facility has been declared a national monument, it was necessary to obtain the aforementioned approvals from the Institute for the Protection of Monuments, which is part of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport, for the works on installing the drainage system and waterproofing the basement premises. 

- With the obtaining of the necessary subsequent approvals, we have continued the works around the facility itself on installing a new drainage system and the necessary waterproofing. Also, on another part of the construction site, we have started laying granite cubes (cobblestones) on the reinforced concrete slab. Two green areas are largely enclosed by stone curbs, and we plan their horticultural arrangement at the end of the works - explained Mesud Zimić, construction site manager of the company „Sela“ which is carrying out the works in front of the BiH Presidency building located between Musala and Reisa Džemaludina Čauševića streets.

Since the beginning of the implementation of this project, at the beginning of August this year, the entire damaged asphalt and concrete base has been removed, and a new system for draining surface water has been installed. The main project, which was done by the company „Es Hydrotechnics“ from Sarajevo, also envisages the installation of hydraulic ramps at the approach to the main entrance, and the reconstruction of the fence around the green areas. The financiers of the project are Centar Municipality and the Directorate of Roads of the Federation of BiH, who jointly allocated 363,000 marks, while the supervision is entrusted to the company „Coning“ d.o.o. Sarajevo.
