Search for missing persons in floods continues

(Patria) - Rescuers continue their search for missing persons in Donja Jablanica today.

All available forces of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, mountain rescue services, and the Civil Protection Administration of Republika Srpska are on the ground.

Although working in very difficult conditions, rescuers have been searching for the missing since this morning.

Floods and landslides have left behind significant material damage and human losses.

In an effort to help the affected population, numerous rescue teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia are involved in rescue and recovery operations.

The most difficult situation is in Jablanica, Fojnica, Kreševo, and Kiseljak.

Head of the Public Relations Department of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Government, Darko Juka, says that 10 to 15 people are being searched for in the Jablanica and Konjic areas.

Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Station Mostar continues to provide assistance in the recovery of areas affected by floods and landslides.

Last night, they delivered a valuable donation to the Jablanica Health Center, including antibiotics, analgesics, antidepressants, and other medications.

Yesterday, 110 rescuers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia were active on the ground, as stated by the GSS in Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that their work contributes to stabilizing the situation and providing assistance to the population.

Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dačić, said that 36 members of the Rescue Team from the Sector for Emergency Situations, along with 12 vehicles, will depart for Jablanica this morning.

Serbia has also offered engineering machinery, excavators, trucks, and helicopters for rescue operations.

In addition, Bosnia and Herzegovina has activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, and response teams will arrive at the scene, confirmed the Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca.
