Continuation of hearings of current and former BiH prosecutors on arbitration proceedings

(Patria) - The Finance and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PA BiH) and the Committee for Combating Corruption of the House of Representatives of PA BiH have scheduled for today at 1:00 PM (Blue Hall) a public hearing of current and former prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The decision on the public hearing of current and former prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was made at the 36th session of the Finance and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives of PA BiH held on May 28, 2025, and at the 16th session of the Committee for Combating Corruption of the House of Representatives of PA BiH held on May 28, 2025.

The Decision stated that the public hearing of current and former prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH will be held in order for the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to obtain all necessary information regarding all current arbitration proceedings against Bosnia and Herzegovina, as contained in the Report of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, file number: 01-07-4-1045/25 dated April 25, 2025.

Prosecutor's Office of BiH disputes the attempt to collect Viaduct debt from the assets of the Central Bank of BiH

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has been taking legal action in the Viaduct case since May last year, said prosecutor Jelena Cvijetić at a public hearing today. The public hearing was held before the Finance and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives.

The first hearing was on June 9, when current prosecutors appeared, and from the former composition, only Mlađen Mandić.

Today, former prosecutors Ismet Velić, Mariofil Ljubić, and Medina Vilić are expected to appear.

The focus of these two committees is on current arbitration proceedings against BiH, with an emphasis on the Viaduct case, for which BiH must pay an amount of 110 million KM, and this amount increases with a daily interest of 18,000 KM.

The budget of BiH institutions has not yet been adopted, and the Presidency of BiH returned the Draft Budget for revision because it is unacceptable for the debt to be paid from the profits of the Central Bank of BiH.
