Consultations on Election Law Continue: Finding a Solution Still Lies with Political Parties

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - As part of ongoing efforts to assist in providing technical expertise for the reform of the Election Law, the European Union and the United States, together with the Venice Commission, continue consultations with relevant stakeholders in the field of electoral legislation. The first in a series of consultations with political leaders is planned for this afternoon. 

A media address will be held on Tuesday, June 5 at 10:45 AM at the premises of the EU Delegation/EUSR.

Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States, Matthew Palmer, Director at the EEAS for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey, Angelina Eichhorst, U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maureen Cormack, and EU Special Representative and Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, will address the media on this occasion.

- The support process continues and we remain ready to provide assistance, advice and expertise, but the responsibility for finding a solution still lies with the political parties. This year, Bosnia and Herzegovina is given a chance to move closer to European Union standards, not to move away from them - the statement from the EU Delegation reads.
