National Assembly of Republika Srpska received request from Željka Cvijanović to hold a special session regarding the conclusion of the BiH Presidency

(Patria) - The Cabinet of the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, today received a request from BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović to hold a session of the NSRS at which the deputies should declare on the Statement of the BiH Presidency member on declaring the Conclusion of the BiH Presidency regarding the escalation of attacks by the authorities of the entity Republika Srpska on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the endangerment of the constitutional and legal order of the state of BiH, adopted without consensus at the 8th regular session of the BiH Presidency, held on October 10, 2023, as very harmful to the vital interests of Republika Srpska.

Cvijanović declared this conclusion of the BiH Presidency as very harmful to the vital interests of the entity of Republika Srpska and called on the deputies of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to hold a session within 10 days and support this declaration with a two-thirds majority.

According to the BiH Constitution, the NSRS considers the Statement of the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, and if it is confirmed by a two-thirds majority within ten days from the day of submission, the contested decision of the BiH Presidency does not enter into force, the statement said.

According to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and in connection with the request of the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Stevandić convened for Monday, October 16, 2023, a session of the Collegium of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska at which the date of the Tenth Special Session of the NSRS will be determined.
