National Assembly of Republika Srpska supported Željka Cvijanović's veto

(Patria) - The National Assembly of Republika Srpska, with a two-thirds majority at today's special session, supported the veto of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović on the conclusion adopted without consensus at the last session of the collective head of state.

Out of 72 present deputies, 66 supported this decision, while one was against, and none abstained. The decision of the NSRS enters into force on the day of its adoption and will be published in the "Official Gazette" of Republika Srpska.

At the special session, the deputies today supported the decision to confirm the statement of the BiH Presidency member, according to which the conclusion of the BiH Presidency regarding the escalation of attacks by the bodies of the entity of Republika Srpska on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the endangerment of the constitutional and legal order of BiH, adopted without consensus at the eighth regular session of the BiH Presidency on October 10, is very harmful to the vital interests of Republika Srpska.

Cvijanović stated that the Presidency's conclusion regarding the escalation of attacks by the bodies of Republika Srpska on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Agreement and the endangerment of the constitutional and legal order of BiH is "not only extremely untrue and maliciously attempts to present the political situation in BiH, but is also functionally aimed at realizing the goals of the unitarist policy advocated by political actors based in Sarajevo."

Addressing the deputies, she asserted that this also recognizes "a malicious attempt to identify the institutions of Republika Srpska and their representatives as solely responsible for the long-term crisis that BiH is going through, as well as a false accusation that the institutions of Republika Srpska are aimed at endangering the Dayton Agreement and the constitutional order of BiH."

She added that "the proposer of the disputed act is not only dealing with the immediate internal political situation in BiH, but is also trying to further internationalize this issue, invoking, among other things, sanctions against institutions and individuals from Republika Srpska from the EU, USA, OHR, and the conclusion also addresses neighboring countries."
