(Patria) - SNSD President Milorad Dodik announced after today's session of the party's Main Board that SNSD will propose in the National Assembly of RS that an acting president of RS be elected until the early elections are concluded.
We remind you that Dodik was finally sentenced by the Court of BiH to one year in prison, which was commuted to a fine, and a six-year ban from holding positions that are fully or partially financed from public funds.
The Central Election Commission of BiH made a decision to terminate the mandate of the president of RS, but Dodik continued to perform his duties. He even signed the proposal for the new mandate holder for the composition of the Government of RS, Savo Minić, so the question arises whether that Government is constitutional.
The CEC has called early elections for the president of RS for November 23, and SNSD made a decision today that they will have a candidate, although they have not yet revealed the name. The name most mentioned is Siniša Karan, former Minister of Internal Affairs, and current Minister of Higher Education in the Government of RS.
Although the holding of a referendum on the decisions of the Court of BiH was announced for October 25, it was stated today that the idea of holding the referendum on the same day as the early elections is being considered.
