People and Justice: Determine who is behind the dissemination of fake news about Wahhabis and assassinations

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Allegations by little-known media from Banja Luka about alleged assassination plans against top officials of Serbia and the Bosnian entity of RS have an exclusive role in intimidating returnees to this entity and the most respected Bosniak activists, states People and Justice.

People and Justice states that we are witnessing an already tested and established model of special media warfare against Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions, prominent individuals, and patriots. According to this model, People and Justice explains, a little-known portal from Banja Luka publishes a news story which is then taken over by the media machinery led by the public service RTRS.

"Allegations of assassination attempts or alleged Wahhabi strongholds in the largest returnee settlements aim to intimidate returnees and draw a target on the backs of all prominent individuals. Janja is an example of a place where a significant return of Bosniaks has occurred, and unfounded and, ultimately, false allegations about a Wahhabi stronghold in this place are a direct attack on the residents of Janja. Also, attacks on individuals recognized as patriots who have never violated any law of Bosnia and Herzegovina nor harmed anyone, and such is certainly Mehdin Jakubović, aim to tarnish all patriotic forces of our homeland who persistently and peacefully work for the Bosniak community in the BiH entity of RS," the reaction of People and Justice states.

People and Justice expect the competent institutions, primarily police agencies and prosecutor's offices, to react ex officio and investigate the responsibility of those disseminating such lies.

"This is not the first time the same established method has been used, behind which stands Dodik's and Vučić's regime. Just a few days earlier, the same machinery published the name of a protected witness in connection with allegations that the current Prime Minister of RS participated in the genocide in Srebrenica. Unfortunately, we are witnessing that the BiH Prosecutor's Office has not processed this case to this day, although it is undoubtedly a criminal offense clearly defined by law. Apparently, such sloppiness of prosecutor's offices and police has encouraged individuals who have now gone a step further in disseminating fake news with the aim of discrediting an entire community or individuals. In addition to the direct perpetrators, it is important to identify the masterminds, i.e., those who ordered such fake news," the reaction of People and Justice states.
