Narod i Pravda: Echoes of Milošević's policy heard again from Belgrade, special and parallel ties between RS and Serbia must be re-examined

(Patria) - The rally held on 8.6.2024 in Belgrade and the adopted declaration once again vividly showed that Milorad Dodik, with the support of Aleksandar Vučić, is a direct threat to the preservation of peace in the wider Western Balkan region, announced Narod i Pravda, a ruling party in BiH which is in coalition with Milorad Dodik's SNSD.

"Although the rally was presented as 'all-Serbian', it is clear that it was a party gathering where there was no room for those who disagree with the destructive policies of Milorad Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić.

The adopted conclusions from this private gathering once again confirmed the clear intention of Milorad Dodik and the leadership of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS, with the support of Aleksandar Vučić and the political leadership of Serbia, to do everything to dismantle the Dayton Peace Agreement and peace itself in the Western Balkans. We remind that Dodik himself reiterated for Russian media that he intends to withdraw from the Dayton Peace Agreement, with open announcements that he is aligning his policy with the intentions and desires of Russia itself. With this, Dodik has completely openly and clearly revealed his ultimate intentions.

Such a rally actually represents the awakening of Slobodan Milošević's project and the continuation of Serbia's hegemonic policy towards its neighbors. Such a policy threatens peace, stability, and makes any regional cooperation between independent and sovereign states impossible on the basis of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each state. Slobodan Milošević's policy was condemned before multiple international courts, and the entire political and military leadership subordinate to him was sentenced to long prison terms for the gravest criminal offenses, including crimes against humanity and genocide," stated NIP.

The adopted conclusions from this weekend gathering, they say, are actually a wish list that does not have and will not have the support of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The Presidency of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will never support such conclusions, especially those that contradict Article 3 (paragraph 2) of the BiH Constitution.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a sovereign and independent state, has institutions that have all the necessary capacities to resist an attack on the state and prevent any threat to peace. The permanent task of any genuine pro-state policy remains the strengthening of these institutions.

We especially call on the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) to react to the open announcements of dismantling the Dayton Peace Agreement. This is the primary obligation of the Peace Implementation Council, especially in circumstances where such moves are coordinated with Vladimir Putin and when they would have direct consequences for the entire Europe. Also, the issue of special and parallel ties between the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS and the Republic of Serbia, which exist as an arrangement precisely and only as part of the Dayton Peace Agreement, must be re-examined," stated NIP.
