Next week cornerstone laying for the start of construction of the bridge on the Sava River near Svilaj

The cornerstone for the start of works on the construction of the bridge on the Sava River near Svilaj will be laid on Wednesday, in the town of Svilaj in Odžak. The cornerstone will be laid by the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ismir Jusko and the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of Croatia Oleg Butković.

This is a major infrastructure project on Corridor 5C that will connect the highway from the Bosnian and Croatian sides of the Sava River.

For each direction of this bridge, three traffic lanes are planned. The bridge is 640 meters long and 29 meters wide, with a concrete-steel structure weighing about 5,000 tons.

The contractors on the bridge are the business association Viadukt d.d. Zagreb and the company Hering d.d. Široki Brijeg.

The planned deadline for the completion of the bridge construction works is two years from the contractor's introduction to the job, Patria reports.
