Federation Government Finally Formed: HDZ Accepts SDA and DF Agreement

15:32

A turbulent day on the political scene seems to be ending happily, writes the Patria News Agency. The Democratic Front, as Patria learns, will participate in the government together with the HDZ and SDA. Although there is no confirmation of this information from the DF, the truth of this story should be sought in the confidence of Dragan Čović, who said that the distribution of portfolios would be discussed as early as tomorrow.

Čović also confirmed that the formation of the government in the FBiH Government has been agreed upon.

Furthermore, Safet Softić, a member of the SDA Presidency, told reporters that good news would be heard soon. Otherwise, after the distribution of power in the Council of Ministers was agreed upon, the FBiH Government was contentious, as both DF and HDZ BiH wanted the Ministry of Finance.

13:30

Journalists waited for more than two hours in front of the BiH Presidency building for developments regarding the formation of the FBiH Government and a possible alternative coalition of SDA and HDZ with other partners, excluding the DF.

However, shortly before 13:30, one of the employees of the BiH Presidency told reporters that they could disperse as there was no meeting in the building, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Nevertheless, some journalists remained in front of the building, but it is unclear whether any meeting is being held inside at all.

Although Čović announced last night that everything would be known by noon today, it is evident that this is not the case, or Čović knows what others do not. Because regarding the possibility of new SDA partners instead of DF, such as SBiH, A-SDA, and BPS, they know nothing, except that SBiH confirmed to Patria that they would accept invitations for talks.

Allegedly, Bakir Izetbegović left the BiH Presidency building through the ceremonial entrance, and Asim Sarajlić, vice-president of SDA, entered the building.

The designate for the Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdić, and the SDA Secretary General, Amir Zukić, also entered the building.

Dragan Čović, upon leaving the Presidency building, said that he expects the distribution of portfolios to be completed by tomorrow.

He did not specify what is happening with the DF, which means that this matter is solely within Bakir Izetbegović's jurisdiction.

"As far as I'm concerned, I am open to all options. I spoke with Izetbegović today. It is time for us to announce the portfolios tomorrow, to look for candidates. We need to work, conduct checks. We are working towards everything being completed tomorrow, so anything else could complicate the situation," said Čović.
