Namoura: We will either live free on our land or die as martyrs, we will not leave Palestine

(Patria) - Rezeq Namoura, the Palestinian ambassador to BiH, called on the international community and influential states to immediately stop the bombing of the Palestinian people.

“This night is different from all others. All places are under attack by Israeli army aircraft. All means of communication have been cut off, and this does not indicate that things will go well. All indicators, even before this evening and the warnings issued by the IDF, which came from land, sea, and air, showed that an even greater massacre would occur. They want to reach some fighters, but that does not give Israel the right to massacre. The price of peace is much lower than the price of war. All of this could have been avoided. If international resolutions that could have been implemented had been adhered to, all this destruction and massacre could have been avoided. If Israel had moved on a path that leads to a two-state solution. Palestinians have sought peace, as if we are begging the world and Israel for peace,” Namoura told Face TV.

The Palestinian ambassador asked if they should remain humiliated.

“You cannot force me to leave my land and homeland through threats and killing. Our people are paying the highest price. We know the stance of the whole world. But what does that mean, to leave our land after a thousand years? They want to erase the Palestinian people here, to kill them, to expel them from Gaza. This is a crime under international law. We will either live free on our land or die proud as martyrs and be buried in our land,” he said.

He added that one of the world's greatest powers has sent aircraft carriers to the shores of Palestine to support Israel.

“They are coming to the shores of Palestine to support Israel in its abuse of Palestinians. We have been enduring injustice for 75 years. No matter how many they kill us, we will not leave our land. I repeat what the President of Palestine said: ‘We insist on peace, our hands are extended for peace. There is no extended hand from the Israeli side. We are paying the price for Israel’s choice’,” he said.

He noted that the Palestinian people received Jews fleeing Nazi persecution.

“But does that mean they should expel us from our land, commit more massacres? Israel is positioning itself as an occupying force. This war may not remain confined to Palestine and the Palestinian people. Self-defense does not justify committing genocide, it is not a permit to kill,” said the ambassador.
