Namoora on Gaza: From genocide to the collapse of the international order

(Patria) - Ever since the Nakba and the establishment of the entity of Israel on the ruins of the Palestinian people, on the land of Palestine, this entity has systematically and constantly committed heinous massacres against the Palestinian people, stated today the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rezeq N.M. Namoora, as a guest speaker at the regular session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals "Krug 99".

Speaking on the topic "Gaza: From genocide to the collapse of the international order", the ambassador states that the aggression and barbarism of the occupier have led to an organized genocidal war, in the true sense of the word, against the Palestinian people.

The goal is to expel Palestinians from their land, said Namoora, recalling that Jews, fleeing persecution from Europe, were welcomed on Palestinian land with dignity, and repaid by violating human rights. The whole world today witnesses the crimes against Palestinians, he added.

The current genocidal war is a continuation of the repressive military occupation that has lasted 76 years, despite all international law resolutions that demanded Israel end the occupation of all Palestinian territories occupied since June 5, 1967, return Palestinian refugees to their homeland, and provide compensation.

"Despite all attempts by the legitimate political leadership - the PLO to reach a peaceful political solution to the conflict, the most prominent of which was the Oslo Accords in 1993, the occupier rejected everything and since 2007 has contributed to imposing, deepening, and prolonging the Palestinian division between the West Bank and Gaza, creating an internal Palestinian problem.

A land, sea, and air blockade of the Gaza Strip was imposed, which led one Palestinian faction in early October 2023 to attack the military division that has held Gaza under blockade for 17 years.

After that, Israel's genocidal war against our people in the Gaza Strip began, which has so far led to the killing of more than 44,000 Palestinians, 70 percent of whom are women and children, according to United Nations reports; the wounding of more than 110,000 Palestinians, the destruction of more than 85 percent of the Gaza Strip, the arrest and disappearance of more than 10,000 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and 10,000 from the occupied West Bank," quotes Namoora's words.

The aggression has expanded and also affected Lebanon, so the entire region is now under threat of a devastating total war, he added.

Namoora emphasizes that Israel continues the war and crimes, unfortunately with the support of the US administration, despite all calls from the Palestinian leadership to the entire world to stop the tragedy and despite great popular opposition worldwide.

All attempts by the Security Council and international institutions have failed, due to the US veto each time, to end this war of aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people, which has clearly shown the failure of the current international order to stop a tragedy the world has not witnessed since World War II.

"The genocide being waged against our people, who strive for freedom and independence like all peoples on the planet, is a disgrace to humanity throughout history," said Namoora.

Adil Kulenović, president of the Association "Krug 99", stated before the ambassador's address that solidarity with the Palestinian people is inherent to Bosnia's historical experience.

"It has been more than a year since the brutal war against Gaza and the Palestinians, and this war is escalating to the point that it could lead to a new, global one, more so than the war that has been ongoing for even longer in Ukraine," concluded Kulenović.
