26 students and 12 teachers test negative for coronavirus

(Patrai) - Alen Šeranić, the Minister of Health of Republika Srpska, stated that 26 test results from children and 12 test results from teachers who were tested for coronavirus are negative.

"All children and teachers from the contact class are negative for coronavirus," Šeranić said, adding that only children and teachers who had contact with a child infected with coronavirus and belong to a risk group were tested.

"High risk in terms of virus transmission implies being in contact with a positive person. If you meet them in the hallway - that's a low degree of transmission possibility," explained Minister Šeranić.

He said that the case of coronavirus infection was not unexpected.

"If another case appears - it will be in smaller numbers. The flow of people is large and it is not unexpected. All countries in the region have started reporting coronavirus cases. We have been preparing for this," Šeranić said.

He said that immediately after the confirmation of the case of infection of a father and son in Banja Luka, the Chinese Ambassador to BiH contacted him, offering assistance.

He told citizens to follow the instructions - because everyone now needs trust to get through the current situation as best as possible.

"We continue with our current way of working. We move on. The virus has not spread on a large scale, we are monitoring everything. At this moment, we have no recommendations for any changes in the operation of kindergartens and schools. I understand the parents' concern. We continue with our lives until further notice," Šeranić said.

Branislav Zeljković, acting director of the Institute of Public Health of Republika Srpska, previously told N1 that the father and son from Banja Luka, who were diagnosed with coronavirus, are in the Infectious Diseases Clinic and are in stable condition. The two of them only have contact with medical staff. The wife, or mother, was also tested - the result is negative and she is in home isolation.
