After great success in Europe, Mostar SG Staklograd players turn to defending their title in BiH

After historic success in the UEFA Futsal Cup qualifying tournament, Mostar Stari grad Staklorad players are turning to new challenges, writes Patria agency. 

Namely, with a maximum of nine points, the Mostar team won first place in the group and qualified for the main round of the UEFA Futsal Cup competition, which will be held from October 10 to 15 in the Romanian city of Deva.

Besides Deva, their opponents will be Araz Naxçivan from Azerbaijan and St Andrews from Malta. The group winner will advance to the elite round of the competition. In 2016 and 2017, Mostar Stari grad Staklorad only knew success, and as a result, they achieved a double crown in our country, followed by excellent performances in Europe.

The historic success in Europe was achieved by the players: Stanislav Galić, Rijad Memić, Bekir Hodžić, Vladan Vesić, Daniel de Souza, Tarik Džmić, Benjamin Šikalo, Dejan Pavlović, Kristijan Radin, Marijo Aladžić, Saša Babić, Nermin Kahvedžić, Enis Isaković, Anel Radmilović, Haris Kajtaz, Mirko Hrkać, Elvir Salčin, Josip Bošković, and the coach is Mirsad Fazlinović.  Great credit for this success also goes to the president of the assembly Esad Elezović, club president Amel Bajgorić, vice-presidents Omer Pajić and Izet Sahović, Alen Đuliman, Mili Husenagić...

- This is a success of all the people in the club, as well as the people of Mostar and Herzegovina. Many have helped us achieve our dreams. When we announced winning the double crown, few believed us. However, we slowly reached that goal and turned to Europe. Now that obstacle has also been overcome, and we are moving forward. Of course, besides the victories, the praise from UEFA officials for organizing the competition in Mostar is the best gift for us.

According to all sports rules, we are the best collective sports team in Herzegovina, as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Of course, we expect awards and recognition from the authorities at the cantonal, federal, and state levels. We are sure that in the coming period, we will be nominated for numerous sports awards, which should arrive in Mostar at the end of the year – says Amel Bajgorić, president of Mostar Stari grad Staklorada.

It is important to emphasize that the Mostar team will begin their title defense at home against Tango on September 29.
