UŠAK, GRADAČAC (Patria) - Selmir Mašetović, a Bosnian student who was arrested on May 22 in Turkey, was released today to defend himself from freedom, confirmed for the Patria agency by his father Husein Mašetović.
Today, a hearing was held in Ušak, after which this decision followed. Mašetović is represented by attorney Suhejla Husić-Demir. The prosecutor's office in Ušak links Selmir to FETO, which Turkish authorities have declared a terrorist organization responsible for the coup attempt on July 15, 2016. At that time, Selmir was in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which there is evidence.
Father Husein said he is overjoyed that Selmir has been released from custody.
- I don't know the procedure now. I think he has to stay there, but now I'm just waiting to hear from him - said Mašetović, who has been in agony with his family for three weeks. He only managed to speak with his son once.
Husein will, if possible, go to visit his son.
In Gradačac, citizen protests were also organized demanding Selmir's release.
