Investigation into disappearance and death of El Emin Hadžić continues after toxicology report

ZENICA, KAKANJ, (Patria) - El Emin Hadžić, a 23-year-old young man, went missing on January 3rd on Ponijeri near Kakanj. The following day, a two-month search began, involving teams from FUCZ, GSS Sarajevo, the police, family members, and locals. 

The search, hampered by precipitation and snowdrifts, as well as conflicting information that emerged about his disappearance, lasted two months, and the young man's body was found on March 3rd about half a kilometer from the weekend cottage where he was last seen alive. 

After the autopsy was performed, the duty prosecutor of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Prosecutor's Office ordered additional expert examinations to determine the presence of alcohol, drugs, and poison. 

The ZDK Prosecutor's Office confirmed to the Patria agency that the toxicology report for El Emin Hadžić found the presence of psychoactive substances and medications. 

„The case is not yet closed. Certain investigative actions are still being undertaken,“ confirmed by the ZDK Prosecutor's Office for Patria. 

The entire case, from the young man's disappearance to the discovery of his body, was marked by contradictory information and numerous ambiguities, which also hindered the search itself. Friends who were staying with Hadžić at the weekend cottage were also questioned, but to this day it remains unclear why the young man left the cottage, after which all trace of him was lost. 

During the search, various pieces of information emerged, including that the young man had been kidnapped and that he was carrying a large sum of money. The ongoing investigation should determine the circumstances of the disappearance of the young man, who was staying at the weekend cottage with several friends.
