Following a death that shook the world: Canada accepts the family of the tragically deceased Aylan Kurdi

The world was shaken by the photograph of little Syrian Aylan Kurdi, as his lifeless body lay on the beach of the Greek island of Kos. This was followed by harsh and unsubstantiated accusations against his father Abdullah that he did not do enough to save his two young sons, Aylan, his brother Galip, and their mother. These accusations, according to many, aimed to make the world forget the tragedy of Aylan and his brother Galip and the Kurdi family, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

These days, Aylan's tragic death has become topical again. The boy's aunt, Tima Kurdi, who lives near Vancouver, a large Canadian city on the west coast, received good news. Namely, the Canadian immigration service has granted refugee status to part of Aylan's family. Aylan's uncle, his wife, and their five children will come among the ten thousand refugees to Canada. This country will receive another 15,000 refugees as early as next year.    

Abdullah Kurdi's sister, Tima Kurdi, lives in Vancouver, and she had been trying for a long time to bring them to Canada with her, but the authorities did not allow it.

- I gave them money to pay the smugglers for transport to Europe. They ran out of the house with nothing, left to themselves and at the mercy of terrorists. Rehan, my daughter-in-law, was terrified and did not want to get on the boat. She told me she was "too young to die." My heart breaks for my nephews, they didn't experience life... I can't come to terms with it - she stated tearfully after the tragedy. She could never forgive herself for not managing to bring them to Vancouver.

- I should have protested, gone on a hunger strike, anything. I'm afraid for my brother. He is an empty man now, but I wouldn't be able to bear losing him too. I begged him not to return to Kobane, but he didn't listen to me. He said he didn't want anything from this world and that there was no one left to live for - stated Tima Kurdi.

Today, Tima Kurdi can only somewhat soothe her soul.
