After meeting at the BiH Presidency: Izetbegović, Radončić and Čović promise faster reforms in FBiH

Bakir Izetbegović, Fahrudin Radončić and Dragan Čović told reporters today in Sarajevo, after a multi-hour meeting with representatives of the BiH Council of Ministers, that they are satisfied with the dynamics of the negotiations, and that reforms in FBiH could move at a faster pace than they have so far.

The coalition of SDA, SBB and HDZ BiH has been strained in recent weeks, after the Government, or rather the Parliament of FBiH, adopted several laws in a way that SDA ministers and representatives outvoted cadres from HDZ BiH.

Radončić said that the authorities in FBiH face about fifty key issues that need to be addressed rapidly, and these issues mainly relate to economic reforms and BiH's path to the EU.

Čović said that negotiations on the construction of Corridor 5c will continue next week, and that he hopes the dark clouds over BiH have been dispersed.

For Bakir Izetbegović, it is important that such meetings are held as often as possible because it can contribute to the stabilization of the situation in FBiH. When asked by journalists about the referendum in RS, Izetbegović said that he hopes the referendum will not be held, and that tensions in the country will subside after the Local Elections in BiH.

To a further question about whether they reached an agreement with HDZ regarding the Law on Games of Chance, Izetbegović stated that HDZ believes there are better legal solutions for this area, but that he believes the current proposal for the Law on Games of Chance is good for now. He further said that he thinks this issue is resolved. There will be no more outvoting and unilateral decisions. What cannot be agreed upon in the federal government will be brought before the three of them, writes Patria.
