After water recedes, disinfection underway in Ilidža municipality

In the area of Ilidža municipality, rivers have receded into their beds, there are currently no flooded houses, nor communication disruptions, and the situation has normalized, it was stated at the session of the Ilidža Civil Protection Staff, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria. 

- Water from local water supply systems is not safe for use, and citizens are warned not to use water from local water supply systems; it is still recommended that citizens boil water for drinking, food preparation, dishwashing, and personal hygiene, or use bottled water. Five people have been evacuated from affected areas. Water from the city water supply complies with the regulations on water quality conditions - it was announced.
Protection and rescue services have been engaged for debris clearance with machinery due to clogged drainage. Five truckloads of sand have been transported to flooded areas.  

Currently, disinfection is being carried out in the Osjek area by the Institute for Public Health of the Sarajevo Canton. Sixteen commissioners have been engaged to monitor the situation, report regularly, and list houses that were flooded for the purpose of disinfection.
