After union criticism, Trojka withdraws proposal for amendments to the Law on Police Officers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the agenda of the session on December 12

(Patria) - Head of the NIP Club in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nihad Omerović, requested the withdrawal of the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the agenda of the emergency session scheduled for December 12.

We recall that Omerović, together with NS representative Predrag Kojović and SDP representative Jasmin Imamović, proposed amendments to the law that would extend the working life of police officers to the age of 65. Such a proposal was not initiated by the unions, which opposed this attempt to change the law.

After several meetings last week, and following the firm stance of the unions of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, gathered in the Union of Police Bodies, the proposers abandoned the proposal.

Interestingly, the directors of these three police agencies did not comment on the proposed amendments to the law, even though the law would apply to several thousand police officers serving in these three agencies.
