After Merkel's statement, all regional leaders agree: Sleep peacefully, there will be no war!

So far, only Milorad Dodik has been talking about war, so his statements were taken almost as comical, as he always talked about war, while always denying the possibility of its outbreak in BiH. The last such statement was made in March 2014, writes the Patria News Agency.  

However, when German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned of possible military conflicts in the Balkans on November 2nd, at a CDU rally in Darmstadt, if Germany closes its border with Austria for refugees, the talk of war suddenly gained momentum.

If there is a refugee pressure as predicted by Chancellor Merkel, Mladen Ivanić, member of the Presidency of BiH, does not believe in a dark scenario…  

"I do not believe in the possibility of conflict, but I think that the Western Balkan countries are not capable of withstanding this pressure, neither economically nor in any other capacity.

No armed conflicts

"I consider the assessment of war conflicts to be too strong, but there would be terrible problems, tensions, and a negative political environment. All the tremors that appear produce a negative environment and further complicate our internal, already fragile, stability," Ivanić concluded.

"There will be no armed conflicts whatsoever," said Zoran Milanović, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, confidently.  

Meanwhile, Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church spoke up, issuing a shocking threat in Niš that "Kosovo must be returned, willingly or by force.".

"We are all tired of war in this region," Vučić told reporters in Sarajevo, adding that he is sure that the migrant crisis and all other problems in this area will be overcome through reasonable and rational behavior.

He believes that the warning by German Chancellor Angela Merkel about possible military conflicts in the Balkans if Germany closes its border with Austria for refugees should be taken seriously. However, he points out that this statement is primarily addressed to the German public regarding the significance of the country's actions concerning refugees.

We know how to work, after all

None of the Bosniak politicians spoke about these war announcements, but SDA did. The collegium of this party, at its session on November 3rd, expressed concern over the latest news about the further armament of countries in the region.

Finally, it is worth remembering the psychiatric statement of the most notorious Hague prisoner, Slobodan Milošević, at those rallies before the outbreak of war: "If we don't know how to work, we will know how to fight.".

It seems that in the Balkans, after all, they have accepted that the most important thing is to know how to work and create values.
