(Patria) - Hungarian opposition leader Peter Magyar stated that he had received warnings in the previous period that something could "accidentally" happen to the gas pipeline in Serbia during the Easter holidays, telling Prime Minister Viktor Orbán that he would not be able to prevent the elections scheduled for next week.
Magyar stated on his Facebook page that he had received "signals from multiple sides" for weeks that, after previous, as he claims, failed false flag operations and a drop in Fidesz's support, Orbán "wants to cross a new line with the help of Serbia and Russia".
"Several people publicly warned that something would 'accidentally' happen to the gas pipeline in Serbia for Easter, a week before the elections in Hungary. And so it happened," Magyar stated, reacting to the information that Serbian security forces found explosives near the gas infrastructure connecting Serbia and Hungary.
He called on Orbán to inform him of the situation's developments without delay and to include him in the work of the Defense Council, stating that regardless of who is behind the incident, the future government, which his party TISZA plans to lead, will have to face the consequences.
Magyar also called on the Hungarian Prime Minister to "stop inciting panic and disorder," which he claims are the result of the influence of Russian advisors.
"He will not be able to prevent the elections next week. He will not be able to prevent millions of Hungarians from putting an end to the most corrupt two decades in our country's history," he stated.
He also assessed that citizens' trust in Hungarian security services has been seriously undermined, stating that citizens "rightly fear" possible manipulations and false flag operations.
Magyar warned that any potential use of this incident for pre-election purposes would represent, as he put it, "an admission that it was a pre-planned operation".
He announced that, if it comes to power, the TISZA government would conduct a comprehensive and public investigation to determine responsibility for what he called "anti-state acts".
"Order, peace, and security will be restored in Hungary. The politics of intimidation will be replaced by the politics of freedom," the opposition leader stated, adding that his government would ensure the country's stability within the European Union and NATO.
At the end of his address, Magyar wished citizens a Happy Easter, with the message that "truth and love always win in the end".
