(Patria) - After the representative of the People and Justice party, Halil Bajramović, was finally convicted, he remains without a mandate in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.
Instead of the convicted Bajramović, Dževahid Sokić, ranked fifth on the compensation list, enters Parliament.
Sokić is, incidentally, the president of the Pensioners' Party of FBiH, and was recently re-elected president at the 3rd Congress of the Pensioners' Party/Retirees of BiH.
In a statement to Patria, Sokić emphasizes that he has not yet been officially notified that he is entering the Parliament of the Federation, but that he is ready and will take the mandate.
“I saw from the media that this is the situation. I am ready to honorably perform the duty of a parliamentarian when the time comes,” said Sokić.
He noted that this would be a return of pensioners to Parliament, as the Pensioners' Party was parliamentary 20 years ago.
“Since then, we have not had representatives in parliaments. What is most important at this moment is to preserve the state of BiH. I will certainly work towards that with my actions,” emphasized Sokić.
As he spoke earlier at the party congress, the strategic goals of the Pensioners' Party for the next period are reforms of the pension system, healthcare, social policy, security, and youth.
