After 14 months of blockade, blockade again: Council of Ministers held only four sessions since December

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In December last year. More precisely, on December 23, 2019, deputies in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the election of a new Council of Ministers headed by Zoran Tegeltija (SNSD). Since then until today, only four sessions have been held and there is no announcement that a new one could be held soon!

The agreement on the new Council of Ministers was reached and confirmed in Parliament 14 months after the general elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina (October 2018), but judging by Tegeltija's behavior and the failure to convene sessions, we are again in a blockade.

Tegeltija always emphasizes that the new composition of the Council of Ministers is fully committed to, in accordance with its competencies, together with the entity governments, continue to work dedicatedly on European integrations and reform processes aimed at stabilizing economic conditions, economic growth, increasing the efficiency of public administration, and attracting domestic and foreign investments with the goal of creating new jobs. 

It is unclear how this will be achieved if there are no sessions.

However, Tegeltija is still overshadowed by Milorad Dodik and the decision of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska that elected representatives from RS should not decide in state institutions until a law is adopted that will „expel“ foreign judges from the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
