After a 12-year break, international horse races were held at the Butmir hippodrome

(Patria) - After a 12-year break, with the patronage of the Municipality of Ilidža, horse races returned to Ilidža, to the Butmir hippodrome.

Today, fans of equestrian sports had the opportunity to enjoy four exceptionally interesting races, and thanks to the Butmirski galop Equestrian Club, the tradition of horse races, which has lasted for almost 130 years in the Ilidža area, has been continued.

In the first race of the day, Imperia-Araberi, with a prize fund of 3,000 KM (track length 1,200 meters), the horse Lenkoran 350 triumphed. The second place went to Lenkoran XII-8, and the third was the horse Gazal.

The horse Abbey’s Wedding, owned by Haris Ganić from the Butmirski galop Equestrian Club, was the fastest in the First Memorial Hamed Begzadić race. South Noor crossed the finish line second. New Pirat took third place, while the fourth position went to the horse Night Moment.

In the third race of the day (track length 1,600 meters), Ferrari Twister won. Qngfu Panda took second place, Alan was third, and Marshal was fourth.

The main race, Municipality of Ilidža, which concluded the excellent multi-hour sports event at the Butmir hippodrome, was won by the horse Aliso and a valuable prize of 5,000 KM. Thunder Rock finished in second place, Ghost STS crossed the finish line third, while Rosa Dartle was fourth.

The prize for the winner of the main race was presented by the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Nermin Muzur, who did not hide his satisfaction with the return of horse races to the Butmir hippodrome.

- I am glad that after 12 years, we have brought horse races back to Ilidža, to the Butmir hippodrome. I believe that something with a 130-year tradition deserves such an event, and I sincerely hope that it will grow from year to year - said the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Nermin Muzur, and added:

- I would like to congratulate all the winners, everyone who took the time to come and watch the races, but also praise the young and ambitious team from the Butmirski galop Equestrian Club, who proved to be excellent organizers. I sincerely hope that the conditions at the hippodrome will improve in the future, just like every subsequent race.
