Highest number of passengers in a single month in the history of Sarajevo International Airport

Sarajevo International Airport served 144,330 passengers in August, representing the highest number of passengers served in a single month in the history of this airport. Moreover, this figure represents an increase of as much as 22% compared to the same month last year.

Also, a total of 1,508 aircraft operations were performed last month, which is 20% more compared to the same month of the previous year. In terms of cargo, 217,745 kg of commercial cargo was dispatched last month, or 15% more compared to the same month in 2016.

Finally, Sarajevo International Airport served a total of 668,338 passengers in the first eight months of this year, representing an increase of over 14% compared to the same period last year, and which is already more than the total number of passengers served in the entire year 2013.

In the first eight months of this year, a total of 8,776 aircraft operations were performed, which is an increase of 14% compared to the same period last year. The physical volume of cargo for the first eight months is 2,084,227 kg, which is an increase of as much as 55% compared to the same period last year. Comparative data indicate that the growth recorded by Sarajevo International Airport this year is among the highest in the region.
