The largest BiH flag was made of satin silk and weighs 250 kg

Members of the fan association "Zmajevi Posavine" from Odžak made the largest flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The flag, measuring 55 by 20 meters, was made by fans of the BiH national football team for as long as six months. They used this flag to send off the Dragons to the World Cup in Brazil at a charity match in Gradačac.

The president of the association, Jasmin Mejrić, told the Patria news agency that the collection of monetary donations began on November 1st last year, and they collected the necessary funds by April 2nd, 2014.

-          Then we started the finalization of the production itself, which was completed on May 10th. 1,100 square meters of fabric were used, and it weighs over 250 kg. It is trimmed with gilded tassels, the material is satin silk, and it cost a lot. But, it's okay, our homeland is not cheap to us. Croats, Serbs, and Bosniaks from Posavina, the diaspora, and other cities both in BiH and on various continents participated in its creation – says Mejrić.

He added that he is a person who does not like to put himself before the association itself, because it is the most important.

- Small people like me should stay aside from all of this. Many participated in the donations. The flag is a gift to our homeland, because the people of this region are proud of it – added Mejrić.

Considering that Posavina had major problems during the floods, the association „Zmajevi Posavine“ thanked everyone who helped their fellow citizens in any way.
