The Greatest Delusion and Deception Is That We Cannot Do Without Foreigners, Yet We Built This Country!

One of the greatest deceptions and delusions we have lived with for the past thirty years is the belief that we cannot do anything on our own. That without foreigners we do not know, dare not, and cannot. That we, as a state and a people, will perish if someone else does not decide for us.

But the truth is completely different.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has survived thanks to its people. It was defended by our fighters, built by our workers, and developed by our entrepreneurs, doctors, professors, engineers, and all those who believed in this country when it was hardest.

Of course, we need friends and partners. Every country needs them. But the future of no people can be built on the belief that someone else will solve its problems. Nor can anyone wish us well more than we can wish for ourselves.

That is why it is high time we rely on our own knowledge, work, ability, and resources. To trust our people and take responsibility for the future into our own hands. Help from sincere friends is always welcome, but the foundation of every success must lie within ourselves.

Our people summed this up long ago in a simple, yet profound and wise message:

"Trust in yourself and your own horse."

As long as we wait for others to save us, we will stand still.

When we believe in ourselves as much as we believe in others, then we will show how much Bosnia and Herzegovina is truly worth.
