The most modern in the region: "1. mart" tunnel to open in mid-August

The "1. mart" tunnel on Corridor 5C will be opened for traffic in mid-August, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The state-owned company Autoceste Federacije BiH confirmed that the safety equipment in the tunnel is currently being tested, after which it will be opened for traffic, which is in about 15 days, as all works so far are proceeding according to the planned schedule and no major problems or delays are expected from this company.

Nearly three kilometers long and one of the most demanding tunnels on Corridor 5C, it will connect Sarajevo and Zenica with a modern highway, which will ultimately contribute to a stronger and faster economic development of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes NAP.

The "1. mart" tunnel was built by Bosnian companies led by domestic companies Euroasfalt Sarajevo and ŽGP Sarajevo, with over 300 workers who worked 24 hours a day on the tunnel construction.

Tunnel safety will be monitored 24 hours a day from the control room of the Maintenance and Traffic Control Center of the state-owned company Autoceste Federacije BiH. Operators in the control room will be alerted to the slightest irregularity in the tunnel, such as a stopped car, a pedestrian in the tunnel, or a traffic accident.

Some equipment, such as LED lighting, is appearing for the first time in this region in the "1. mart" tunnel, writes Patria.
