Most beautiful scenes of tradition: Ceremonial parade of horsemen in Donji Vakuf

(Patria) - Horsemen from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina held a parade through Donji Vakuf today and headed towards Prusac, to attend the Central Program of the cultural-religious event "515. Ajvatonica Days", reports Mina.

About 260 horsemen from the homeland, but also from other countries, tonight reminded of the spirit of tradition that has been cultivated in these areas for more than 500 years.

All attendees could witness the beautiful scenes of horsemen and flag bearers from Karaula, Jajce, Donji Vakuf, Zenica, Glamoč, Gradačac, Brčko, Srebrenica, Kozarac, and many other cities.

– We don't have anything like this in the whole of BiH, nor beyond. So it is truly a beauty, a tradition of ours that we are proud of, which reminds us of our glorious days, of our glorious past, but from which we should also draw lessons for the future. How our ancestors were organized, honest, virtuous, brave, they did not wish ill upon others, so we should inherit from them. And of course, horsemanship, that is our tradition, and here, a number of people cultivate their horses every year, mostly for Ajvatonica, some exclusively for Ajvatonica, but it is a very beautiful event.

What makes us happy, among other things, is that the number of places from which these horsemen come has been increasing in the last few years. From Srebrenica, Tuzla, Foča, Vlasenica, and so on, so from eastern Bosnia through Brčko, then down south from Herzegovina, then we have from Kozarac, this year it was announced from Bužim, I don't know if they have arrived yet, but practically from all over Bosnia, and over 260 horsemen were announced – said the Travnik mufti Ahmed-ef. Adilović.

After the ceremonial parade, the Central Mevlud ceremony and dhikr, which will be performed by the Choir of students of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Gazi Isa-beg's madrasa from Novi Pazar, as well as hafizes from the Republic of Turkey and the Tarikat Center, is planned for tonight in the Hasan Kafi Pruščak mosque.

A relevant sermon will be delivered by hafiz Mirfat-ef. Fijuljanin.

Horsemen will also be expected tomorrow for roll call on the plateau in front of Handan-agina mosque in Prusac, before the start of the Ajvatonica Central Program.
