Mosquito infestation: Impossible to stay outdoors in Bosanski Šamac

Aerial spraying of mosquitoes in the valleys of the Bosna, Krivaja and Usora rivers has been postponed indefinitely due to unfavorable weather conditions, rainfall. No warning was issued today that spraying would be carried out, so it cannot be expected by the end of this week, writes the Patria News Agency.

As the acting director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration of the FBiH told NAP earlier, a warning must be issued one to two days before spraying so that people can prepare.

However, more and more mosquitoes are covering areas that were flooded, and as Salem Šehović, who was in Bosanski Šamac yesterday, told us, the situation is not optimistic.

- We were delivering aid to the endangered population, but it is really almost impossible to stay outdoors. There are so many mosquitoes that you simply cannot defend yourself. It is not pleasant at all. I don't know how people manage to stay outdoors at all – Šehović told NAP.
