Gas price reduction announced

The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry announced today that Federal Minister Nermin Džindić is asking gas suppliers to reduce the price of this energy source for households by 15 percent starting January 1st this year. This would reduce its price to 550 KM, instead of the current amount of 640 KM for 1,000 cubic meters.

Minister Džindić presented this request at yesterday's meeting, held at the FBiH Government headquarters in Sarajevo, with representatives of "BH-Gas", "Sarajevogas", and "Toplane", reports the Patria News Agency.

Although the management of "BH-Gas" requested that the new gas price be 600 KM, this ministry emphasizes that this request was rejected because, according to all indicators, a larger price reduction is possible and more realistic.

At yesterday's meeting, it was agreed that the Federal Ministry will propose the appointment of a new Supervisory Board of "BH-Gas" at the next session of the FBiH Government, which will, in accordance with legal powers and the request of this ministry, make a decision, which will be confirmed by the Federal Government, that the gas price be 550 KM, it was announced from this ministry.
