NAGORNO-KARABAH Armenia declares war, population mobilized

SARAJEVO, (Patria - The Armenian government has declared a state of war due to the escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

A general mobilization has also been announced.

"By decision of the Government in the Republic of Armenia, a state of war and general mobilization have been declared. The decision takes effect from the moment of announcement. Everyone report to your military commissariats. For the homeland, for victory", wrote Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Facebook.

A new escalation occurred in Nagorno-Karabakh this morning.

Armenian forces shot down two Azerbaijani helicopters and three drones, said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan.

The area, she added, came under air and artillery fire from Azerbaijani forces.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan had previously announced that Armenian forces fired along the line of separation and that there were civilian casualties.

Meanwhile, a state of war has also been introduced in the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, and mobilization has been declared.

Official Moscow also reacted by calling for an immediate ceasefire, as did the CSTO, which stated that the conflict must be resolved only by peaceful means.
