(Patria) - Due to a change in wind intensity and direction during the night, there has been a sudden drop in PM10 and air purification in the Sarajevo valley.
According to data from monitoring stations, average daily values of this pollutant were extremely high during the last 24 hours, and in some measurement zones, such as Otoka, Ilijaš, Vogošća, and Ilidža, they reached levels set for declaring episodes from the Intervention Measures Plan.
The air is currently clean throughout the Canton, and considering the announced weather conditions, no significant deterioration is expected in the next 48 hours.
According to the synoptic forecast, today and tomorrow will be cloudy with occasional light precipitation in the form of rain and snow, as well as the occurrence of light to moderate southerly winds.
This situation should reflect in lower concentrations of pollutants.
The expert body of the Sarajevo Canton will continue to continuously monitor the situation and report to the competent Ministry on air quality, and propose possible measures if necessary.
