Mayor Muzur opens the second Healthy Aging Center in Lužani on Ilidža municipality

(Patria) - The Healthy Aging Center in Lužani, the second of its kind in the Ilidža municipality, opened its doors to users today.

An extremely important project, where our oldest citizens will be able to pursue their activities, was opened by the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur.

The Healthy Aging Center in the Lužani Local Community is located at 39 Samira Ćatovića Kobre street. The space has been completely renovated and adapted so that users, in addition to socializing, will have the opportunity to participate in various activities and workshops that the Center will launch in the future.

- Through the realization of this project, we wanted to show that all categories of the population are equally important to the Municipality of Ilidža. After recently officially opening the "Čarli" Emir Bogunić Sports and Recreation Center, today we opened the doors of the Healthy Aging Center in Lužani for our senior citizens - said Mayor Nermin Muzur, wishing the users good health and that they spend their time in the Center in a pleasant atmosphere.

The Mayor also emphasized at the end that the Center opened today will certainly not be the last facility of its kind in the Ilidža area.

Executive Director of the Partnership for Public Health Association, Sejdefa Bašić, emphasized that this type of center can only bring good to our country.

- I am pleased that the residents of Ilidža municipality will have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful space. The space, with its interior and exterior ambiance, offers additional opportunities for various activities. It is important to emphasize that a center of this kind did not exist in the past, and that the third age generations did not have the opportunity to socialize in this way. This is the seventeenth center that exists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I believe that every municipality should provide at least one for its oldest residents - Bašić said.

Center Manager, Adnana Podrug, emphasized that the Center's premises will be open for members from Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Otherwise, the first Healthy Aging Center in the Ilidža municipality was opened in September 2020 in Hrasnica.
