On Vlašić, the manifestation 'Days of Victory, Days of Pride' has begun: A 17-meter-high lily and seven stećci for the seven corps of the ARBiH

(Patria) - The manifestation “Days of Victory, Days of Pride - Ljuta greda 2024” on Vlašić has once again gathered a large number of former soldiers and citizens, during which the memorial "General Mehmed Alagić lily - Ljuta greda" will be opened.

The organizer of the manifestation is the Association of the 306th Brigade of the Third and Seventh Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The lily is 17.4 meters high, and it is surrounded by seven replicas of stećci, which symbolize the seven corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The symbolism is that the "Vlašić Operation" is one of the greatest victories of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the defensive-liberation war, from where, in a way, the "Bosnian Spring" and the liberation of our homeland began during 1995.

"Because the late General Mehmed Alagić, who was the commander of the 7th Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was a motivator and the one to whose credit Mount Vlašić was liberated, he deserves a special place in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people. He deserves this monument," said the mayor of Travnik, Kenan Dautović.

Already yesterday, numerous former soldiers, citizens, and younger generations gathered on this plateau, to whom love for the homeland and the obligation to never forget the historical moments of the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its heroes were passed on.
