Demonstration exercise 'Readiness of the Civil Protection Structure of Ilidža Municipality' successfully held at Stojčevac

(Patria) - On the occasion of the exercise "Readiness of the structure and deployment of the Civil Protection of Ilidža Municipality", a review of the organized structures of the Civil Protection of Ilidža Municipality was held in front of the House of Culture in Hrasnica, in the presence of elementary school students from the Ilidža municipality and citizens.

At the very beginning of the review, the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, addressed those present, emphasizing that many activities have been carried out in the previous period, both in terms of equipment and education of the Civil Protection structure, in order to react promptly in unforeseen situations.

- The goal of today's demonstration exercise is the preparation, training, and preventive action of the Civil Protection Service of Ilidža Municipality. Unfortunately, in 2021, we had the experience of floods which showed us the importance of these structures and how ready the local community is to respond to the task. In the coming period, we will continue to equip the Civil Protection structure of Ilidža Municipality and raise the level of readiness - said Mayor Nermin Muzur.

After the review, a demonstration exercise was held at Stojčevac, organized by the Civil Protection Headquarters of Ilidža Municipality, which aimed to test readiness and coordination in emergency situations to ensure proper and immediate response to various scenarios of accidents and disasters.

The exercise involved the Civil Protection Headquarters of Ilidža Municipality, the Civil Protection Service of Ilidža Municipality, protection and rescue services, Civil Protection commissioners of Ilidža Municipality, and members of the Ilidža Police Station.

The exercise plan was to simulate an earthquake and its consequences in the area of Ilidža Municipality. In addition to removing debris, rescue, and providing medical assistance, the exercise also included the evacuation of citizens from endangered areas, as well as their transport.

The Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, stated that one of the key aspects of the exercises was the coordination between different teams, and that in a real disaster situation, quick and coordinated action is of fundamental importance.

The Civil Protection Headquarters of Ilidža Municipality currently has 215 members; based on ongoing procurements for material and technical resources, the plan is to increase this number to 300 members by next year.

- The organization of the Civil Protection structure is an extremely important segment, and we pay great attention to it, due to past experiences, but also due to the geographical location of Ilidža Municipality. We want to be, like the local community itself, the best-equipped and best Civil Protection - stated Mayor Muzur, and added:

- We hope that we will demonstrate all this equipment and readiness only in demonstration exercises in the coming period and that we will not have the opportunity to realize it in reality and show all our machinery and our preparedness.
