(Patria) - Members of the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Visoko yesterday, on the occasion of November 25, the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, placed the first flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina on a rock above the Fojnica River near the Visoko picnic area Ada na Bucima.
The initiator of this form of marking Statehood Day is the Local Community (MZ) Buci, which financed the procurement of the flag, and GSS Visoko voluntarily carried out its installation.
- The lilies are the state symbol of the Bosnian kings and the thousand-year existence of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This is also an act by which we in some way express gratitude and pay tribute to all the fighters from the Buci-Kralupi-Goduško-Tušnjić area who fought and died under this flag.
They made an immeasurable contribution to the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina against aggression in the period 1992-1995," stated the MZ Buci for Visoko.co.ba.
Special thanks were given to GSS Visoko members Adin Šehović, Samra Džafić, Ramiz Džafić, and mountain guide Ibrahim Kovačević "who carried out this challenging and demanding endeavor, as well as to all others who participated in this project."
Samra Džafić herself revealed to the Patria News Agency that the dimensions of the placed flag with lilies are 10 by 5 meters.
