Sarajevo Bypass Opened in Spectacular Fashion

At a ceremonial event, the Sarajevo bypass was spectacularly opened near the Vlakovo viaduct, and as pointed out, this is much more than just a construction project that will ease access to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and which over the past two years has provided jobs for several hundred workers, according to all relevant BH experts, reports the BH news agency Patria.

The ribbon was cut by the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, together with the Sarajevo children's choir "Princes krofne", and the first to pass through this section of the road were Sarajevo bikers.

Incidentally, several hundred guests attended this ceremony, with the largest number being the workers who carried out the construction work on the Sarajevo bypass.

The Sarajevo bypass was built by domestic companies Euro-asfalt and ŽGP, thereby gaining references that put them on an equal footing with international competitor firms.

With the construction of the nine-kilometer-long section, which connects the already built highway from Zenica to Vogošća with the part of the highway being built from Sarajevo towards Herzegovina, and whose construction cost around 36.8 million KM, domestic expertise built it on time and to the highest world standards.

As pointed out by Ensad Karić, director of the Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the construction of this section was taken over two years ago.

- And then, in just ten months, they built a highway on which vehicles will now be able to travel unhindered. This tells us only one thing, and that is that our country has capable and hardworking people – says Karić.
