At the EUROCHAMBERS General Assembly held in Brussels, catastrophic floods that hit BiH during May were discussed, as well as the ways in which EUROCHAMBERS could help the economy of our country, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Bruno Bojić, Vice-President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, informed the representatives of the chambers of commerce of EUROCHAMBERS member states about the consequences that BiH suffered after the floods, which struck our country and caused enormous damage to the economy. According to expert estimates, as much as 30 percent of the economy, mostly export-oriented, was destroyed in the devastating floods.
Bojić requested assistance from EUROCHAMBERS in the form of launching new projects for the flooded areas in BiH, and asked the representatives of the chambers to have understanding for BiH companies that are unable to fulfill contractual obligations, as many of these companies are not operating now, because their machinery has been completely destroyed.
- A large number of chamber representatives with whom we spoke responded to our call for help, and we are now discussing the implementation of concrete activities – said Bojić.
- We soon expect a visit from a delegation of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) to our country – he added, reports Patria
