Internal works to soon begin at school in Stup, will also have underground garage

(Patria) - Works on the elementary school building in the Ilidža settlement of Stup are in full swing and proceeding according to the previously set plan. Accompanied by contractors, the construction site was visited today by the Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton Naida Hota-Muminović and the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality Nermin Muzur.

„Through the joint investment of Ilidža Municipality and Sarajevo Canton, the children of the Stup settlement will get a modern, I would say, the most modern school. The school is designed to meet the educational needs of the 21st century. I look forward to soon making this educational institution available to the students and citizens of this Sarajevo settlement,” stated Minister Hota-Muminović.

The Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, emphasizes that the results of dedicated work are very visible.

„This project is a product of joint work and a clear vision that every child in our municipality has equal conditions for schooling. I am glad to see concrete results and that the works are proceeding according to the planned dynamics. Stup deserves such a school, modern, functional, and safe,” said Mayor Muzur.

Reinforced concrete works are successfully nearing completion on the school building. After being completed in the basement, masonry works have been intensified on all floors. Preparations are underway for the installation of mechanical, electrical, and water supply and sewage systems.

The basement premises are completed, and preparations are underway for "closing" the building, which will create optimal working conditions during the winter months.

This is one of the most important capital projects of Ilidža Municipality and Sarajevo Canton, which is slowly taking its final shape. The conceptual design of the school was created by the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo, and the future school, with an area of 8,225 square meters, will be the most modern in Sarajevo Canton.

In addition to 12 general classrooms, the school will have laboratories for natural sciences and informatics, a modern library and reading room, a restaurant, rooms for extended stay, and a multifunctional hall.

Within the complex, a sports hall with 500 seats, a clinic, a local community center, and an underground garage are also planned.
