At the Book Fair, the most sought-after editions are those of Selimović, Coelho and Şafak

Around ten exhibitors are participating in the International Book Fair at Alija Izetbegović Square. A rich offer of domestic and foreign literature has not been missing this time either, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

At the stand of the publishing house Maki Book from Belgrade, hundreds of books are displayed, and as the seller Radosav Vasović told us, citizens can take advantage of discounts from 10 to 30% until Tuesday when the fair ends.

- The best-selling works are those of Elif Şafak, Meša Selimović, Paulo Coelho, as well as books for teenagers with some light themes – says Vasović.

He also pointed out that the attendance is higher than expected, but that people are looking more than they are buying. At one of the stands, antique books are displayed, which attract an older population, the seller explained.

Many citizens used the nice weather of the past two days for a walk through the fairgrounds. Samir Fazlić, owner of the bookstore „Zoro“, confirmed this to us.

- In the first days it was raining and that affected sales, but now it is much better. This fair ends on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, on the occasion of the Sarajevo Film Festival, a new international fair with more than 20 exhibitors begins – says Fazlić.

Incidentally, during the days of the fair, this bookstore collected about a hundred books for the General Library in Maglaj, and a visit is planned for August 20 to hand over the donation to director Nina Salkić.

- We have already participated in the campaign several times, and we have also donated shelves. This is not the end. I believe that we will hear good news from Maglaj as early as this month. I consider that it was one of the most beautiful libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It had a complete story, and everyone could find something for themselves – says Fazlić.

We remind you that the General Library in Maglaj lost 28,000 books during the May floods, and the entire space needed renovation. Numerous companies, fellow librarians, schools and other donors joined the aid campaign to help the only library in the Maglaj Municipality start working. Incidentally, the Maglaj library was founded 56 years ago, writes Patria.
