At the Call of the Initiative for Stolac: Bosniaks Boycott the Elections

Nerin Dizdar, a member of the SDP Main Board who lives in Stolac, says that election day is passing peacefully, but it is noticeable that Bosniaks are not turning out to vote. This is not surprising given that the Initiative for Stolac, whose candidate is Salmir Kaplan, was removed from the mayoral list and called for a boycott of the repeated elections, Patria reports.

Dizdar believes that the Central Election Commission has done an injustice to Stolac and that the electoral system needs to be changed because the current one enables electoral theft. On the other hand, he believes that citizens should use their democratic right and fight for their rights.

Stolac has been led by a candidate from the HDZ BiH for 25 years.
