You forget about politics when you catch a 23 kg fish

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Fishing is a good way for a person to escape everyday problems and relax a bit. The Vrbas River hides many treasures, as confirmed by fisherman Braco Žutić, who recently caught a fish of nearly 23 kg.

The huchen from the Vrbas, weighing 23 kg and measuring 120 centimetres, is not part of some fishing legend, but the catch of Banja Luka fisherman Braco Žutić. When he went fishing in the Trapisti neighbourhood, he had no idea he would return with his biggest catch so far.

 „This is the biggest fish I have caught in my 30 years of fishing. Previously, I caught fish up to 13 kilos. I did not expect such a large fish to exist in the Vrbas. Fishing is a sport that cannot be described,“ said Braco Žutić, a fisherman from Banja Luka.

Some fishermen from Banja Luka say that large huchen have hooked onto their lines several times, but no one managed to pull them out of the river. Braco succeeded, but it was a tough fight.

„I barely managed to straighten it in the middle of the rapids, there was some playing with the fish and removing the bait. I somehow managed to hold it, and then it settled on the bottom, I could not lift it. I succeeded when I struck harder. It was a big fish, I did not expect it to be that big. I somehow managed to calm it down and pulled it towards me. It destroyed my reel, but did not break the line,“ he said.

Braco says that with this catch he earned the title of King of the Vrbas, because it is not known that anyone has ever caught such a large fish. Reactions among colleagues were mixed.

 „There was jealousy and those who congratulated me. Some told me I should have released it, but if I had released such a prize fish, no one would have known. This way I promoted many things, people called me from everywhere. They ask if it is possible that such a fish exists in the Vrbas?“

The fish was preserved to testify to the greatest achievement of this fisherman, until the Vrbas surprises us again with some fishing gem.
