Large quantity of cigarettes and tobacco worth 58,000 KM seized in the Tuzla area

(Patria) - Authorised officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority from RC Tuzla, in an operational action codenamed "ZMAJ II", temporarily seized 7,049 packs of various cigarettes that were not marked with excise stamps of the Indirect Taxation Authority in the legally prescribed manner, as well as 58 kg of fine-cut tobacco without excise stamps and a tobacco scale.

The total value of the temporarily seized goods is estimated at approximately 58,000 KM.

In accordance with the instructions of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, authorised officials of the ITA identified persons engaged in the illegal trade of excise products and located the facility they used for storing unmarked excise products. On that occasion, searches were conducted of passenger motor vehicles, residential buildings and auxiliary structures.

Appropriate proceedings will be initiated against the perpetrators of the described illegal acts before the competent court.
