Nenad Čanak Also Coming to Commemorate Srebrenica Genocide

The leader of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) and former presidential candidate in Serbia, Nenad Čanak, has confirmed his attendance at the commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide anniversary.

Čanak addressed the topic of the Srebrenica genocide in a recent statement, reports N1.

- The Dayton Agreement stopped the war in 1995, which culminated in the genocide in Srebrenica in July of the same year. The undeniable territorial pretensions of a large part of Serbia's intellectual, and then political, elite towards Bosnia were not concealed at the time. Serbia's participation in the war in BiH was media, financial, logistical, and military. The war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the core of Milošević's Greater Serbia project, resulted in Serbia being convicted before the Permanent International Court for not preventing and not punishing genocide. Despite all this, our society and the ruling politics have not yet broken away from the nationalist idea that led to the greatest armed conflict in Europe after World War II a quarter of a century ago - warned the president of LSV.

Besides him, the leader of the Movement of Free Citizens and former candidate for the President of Serbia, Saša Janković, as well as Čedomir Jovanović, leader of LDP, have also confirmed their attendance.

It is still unknown whether any representatives of the Serbian Government will attend the commemoration of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide on July 11.
