March 1st Marked at Site of Great Suffering in Prijedor

In Čarakovo, municipality of Prijedor, a place that suffered the most in the period 1992-1995, a ceremonial academy and commemoration of March 1st, BiH Independence Day, was held today.

A large number of residents from this place and Prijedor gathered at this event, and the ceremony was held under the auspices of the President of the Prijedor City Assembly and in cooperation with the organization of veterans and patriots of this place.

In addition to representatives from this entity, including the Vice-President of Republika Srpska Ramiz Salkić, the academy was also attended by representatives from Una-Sana Canton, Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić, Minister of Economy Nijaz Kadirić, and Member of the Una-Sana Canton Assembly Jasmin Musić. Also, the president of the Independent Bloc Senad Šepić, with a delegation from this party, attended and supported the activities of the residents of this region in achieving their goals.

The people of Čarakovo and Prijedor have shown dignity and remained upright throughout their just struggle for their homeland BiH. Therefore, a special message was conveyed from today's gathering that March 1st, the Independence Day of BiH, our only homeland, is being commemorated in the most solemn manner precisely here, at this place.
